Netflix closes 2022 with several hits: season 4 of ‘Stranger Things’, ‘Wednesday’, ‘Sandman’, ‘Dahmer – Monster’… but 2023 is just around the corner and the platform already has several premieres highlights to continue entertaining us for another year. Here are some of them:
‘The Crown’
One of Netflix’s biggest phenomena will come to an end next year. Season 6 will be the finishing touch and will say goodbye to the story of Elizabeth II in style. ‘The Crown’ will return with Imelda Staunton at the helm, Elizabeth Debicki as Lady Di and Dominic West as the former Prince Charles.
‘Shadow and Bone’
After a year of silence, it seems that 2023 will finally be the year in which we can see season 2 of the adaptation of the sagas created by Leigh Bardugo. ‘Shadow and bone’ will continue the adventure of Alina against the Shadow with new additions and will be released on March 16.
‘The Witcher’
‘The Witcher’ faces its last season with Henry Cavill as Geralt de Rivia. The actor will say goodbye to the character before passing the baton to Liam Hemsworth in this season 3 , which will continue to adapt the story written by Andrzej Sapkowski and will be accompanied by the spin-off ‘The Witcher: The Origin of Blood’.
‘The Fall of the House of Usher’
Despite the recent cancellation of ‘The Midnight Club’, Mike Flanagan continues to be one of the platform’s star creators and his next project will come to us next year: ‘The Fall of the House of Usher’, adaptation of the novel by Edgar Allan Poe with Carla Gugino and Mark Hamill.
‘Berlin’
Another star product of the streaming service is ‘La casa de papel’, whose first spin-off will be released almost two years after the end of the original. ‘Berlin‘ will bring back one of the most memorable characters from the series, with Pedro Alonso at the helm.
‘Heartstopper’
After the pleasant surprise that was ‘Heartstopper’, we won’t have to wait long to find out how the love story between Nick and Charlie continues in season 2 . The adaptation of the comics created by Alice Oseman promises a new helping of butterflies in the stomach, accompanied by several new characters.
‘I never’
‘I never’ is also leaving us and it is that this season 4 will be the last. The wonderful adolescent series created by Mindy Kaling will put an end to the comings and goings of Devi and her classmates in high school.
‘Bridgerton’
If we talk about hits, we can’t forget ‘Bridgertons‘. The addictive series will continue to adapt Julia Quinn’s books in this season 3 , which she promises to be “more steamy.” In 2023 we will have a double with the spin-off of ‘La reina Carlota’.
‘One Piece’
Live-action adaptations almost never go well and, for this reason, we don’t know what to expect with ‘One Piece’. Even so, there is a lot of curiosity to see how they will adapt Eiichiro Oda’s adventure manga with live actors and if it will have more luck than ‘Cowboy Bebop’.
‘You’
Season 4 of ‘You’ will come in two parts (which will premiere on February 10 and March 10, respectively), in which we will once again accompany the haunting Joe Goldberg in the next chapter of his life, this time the other puddle side.
‘Manifest’
Last end of the list. ‘Manifest‘ is one of those series that, although it seems that it doesn’t make a lot of noise, always ends up being among the most viewed on Netflix and that will say goodbye with season 4 .
‘Junji Ito Maniac: Tales of the Macabre’
Anything they announce about Junji Ito is always cause for celebration and, finally, soon we will be able to see a new anime about his work. ‘Junji Ito Maniac: Tales of the Macabre’ will be another anthology that will adapt some of his most terrifying stories.
