From hosting their therapy talks on ‘Red Table Talk’ to putting on successful productions, the Smith family has done it all and, in the process, generated a lot of controversy.

Will Smith appeared on our screens in the 90’s when he starred in the series ‘The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air’. He has also starred in many successful movies.

His wife, Jada Pinkett Smith, is also a movie veteran. In addition to participating in the franchise ‘The Matrix’ and ‘Girls Trip’, she hosts the series ‘Red Table Talk’ alongside her daughter Willow Smith. OF THE MOST INFLUENTIAL

Will and Jada have made big names for themselves in the entertainment industry. So it was no surprise that Jaden, 20, and Willow, 18, were also inclined to act or sing.

The Smith family has managed to become one of the most influential in Hollywood. His talent extends through creating music, movies, and running a successful web series channel on YouTube and Facebook.

Will’s channel on the video platform has amassed more than five million subscribers. For its part, ‘Red TableTalk’ has garnered more than 275 million views and an Emmy nomination.

THE RAISING OF THEIR CHILDRENFrom the beginning, Will and Jada taught their children, Jaden, Willow and Trey, to be independent thinkers and not be bound by heteronormative standards. The eldest of the three, Trey, is the result of the marriage between the actor and his first wife, Sheree Zampino.

The fact that the couple gave their children this kind of freedom did not sit well with many fans online. Some thought that this kind of freedom would not end well.

As reported by Vanity Fair, BBC presenter A.Dot interviewed Will. He said that the actor expressed what he thinks about giving his children freedom of expression at such a young age.

“Jaden is 100% fearless, he will do anything. So as a parent it’s scary. He’s really scary, but he’s completely willing to live and die by his own artistic choices,” the ‘Independence Day’ star said.

DO NOT PUNISH THEMDespite the faith that celebrities have in their offspring, their followers felt that they were not raising their children well. The fact that the actor had admitted that they were not punished seemed like a line from a book.

Instead of reprimanding them for their wrongdoing, they made them take responsibility for it. They also had them explain why they felt it was important to do them. Will insisted that they prefer to give their children control of their own lives.

When Jayden wore a skirt for Louis Vuitton’s fashion advertorial in 2016, it sparked controversy and backlash from people. Even so, the actor supported the creative expression of his son.

TEACH THEM TO EXPRESS THEMSELVES

Will stated that his boys are free to dress and express themselves however they want without conforming to social and gender demands. He expressed his admiration for Jaden for daring to expose her raw self, despite her expected reaction.

When the children were still young, Will and Jada created a “circle of safety.” This concept allowed them to talk openly with their children to address mistakes they had made, without getting into trouble.

Although many parents may not agree, the actors have raised their children not as inferiors, but as equals. This is why they are expected to make decisions when they are adults.

“We respect our children the same way we respect anyone else,” the actor told Eonline.THE RESULT OF YOUR BREEDING

For years, the Smiths faced a lot of retaliation for choosing to raise their children differently. Sometimes even Will himself wasn’t quite sure that some of his ways were the right ones.

And while all of this backlash happened years ago, it’s now apparent that the actors knew what they were doing. The way you raise your children and let them make their mistakes and learn from them seems to have paid off.

Parents did not forbid their children to explore their interests. And as Jada used to say, they wanted to raise them to be the best at whatever they wanted to do.

According to Dr. Jenny Rankin, the freedom the actors gave their children helped them become “well-rounded, better-prepared adults.” The child education expert added that this is one of the reasons why they differ from many children of celebrities.

He said most celebrity offspring are always partying and possibly wasting their lives. But he said that Will and Jada’s children almost always follow their passions and work hard to achieve their dreams.

Willow was once frowned upon for shaving her head in protest. Jayden was criticized for wearing a skirt. Now they are two of the most famous boys of this generation. His decisions are now considered fashion statements.

“The Smiths were ahead of their time. His past actions have become trend-worthy and admirable as the cultural climate changes and becomes more acceptable,” brand strategist Lexi Montgomery told.
