After two decades, the 21st century is ushering in an incredible era for television comedy . The world is constantly changing, and the contemporary series scene continues to reflect all that diversity of sensitivities that are gradually being installed on our television (or streaming platforms such as  , HBO, Movistar + or Amazon Prime Video) to open more and more the boundaries of the genre. Between those that always manage to make us laugh and the most risky bets that play with the mix of genres and even social and political criticism, we have compiled a list of incredible comedy series that are among the best of our century.

We must make a clarification to avoid sudden attacks of anger when seeing that our favorite series is not there: we have left out those series that began in the 90s (such as the beloved ‘Friends’, ‘Frasier’ or ‘Sex in New York’), although they ended well into the 2000s. Thus, we have focused on those that were properly released in the 21st century .

Such iconic series as ‘ The Office ‘ (the American one) have entered the list, an absolute favorite among the public and incessant generator of memes on social networks, and ‘ Flight of the Conchords ‘, a small jewel with a New Zealand brand that is advancing to the rhythm of the delirious songs of Jemaine Clement and Brett McKenzie. We will also find award-winning series such as ‘ Veep ‘, the portrait of the White House led by Julia Louis-Dreyfous, and the recent ‘ Fleabag ‘, the romantic-tragic comedy by Phoebe Waller-Bridge. And we do not forget the Spanish representation with titles as incredible as ‘ Paquita Salas‘, the Netflix series created by Los Javis and starring the representative of the most iconic stars in our country, and ‘ Vergüenza ‘, among others.

They are all wonderful and recommended to have a good time drowning in laughter , but surely more than one has been left out. What is your favorite comedy series? Do not hesitate to tell us about it on social networks!

One of the most mythical comedies of our time, and an inexhaustible factory of memes.
