Since Amazon launched its streaming platform in our country, it has been incorporating quite a few interesting titles into its catalog, although they have not promoted them too much.
This VOD service may not (yet) have the most striking premieres, but it guarantees countless hours of laughter, some new and others very nostalgic . After diving through its contents, these are, in my opinion, the best comedies that Amazon offers, although I clarify that the order is NOT from best to worst but rather random (today I did not feel like fighting with myself deciding which one goes above).
1. ‘The Marvelous Mrs Maisel’
We start with an inescapable recommendation. Amy Sherman-Palladino, creator of Gilmore Girls , finally got her long-eluded awards recognition with a period dramedy about a woman whose perfect life goes to hell and discovers she wants to try to make it in the world of entertainment. stand up . She won the Emmy and the Golden Globe last year, no less, being the original series that has given Amazon the most joy.
2. ‘Fleabag’
In recent years, Phoebe Waller-Bridge has stood out as one of the brightest minds in screenwriting thanks to Killing Eve and Fleabag , perhaps her most personal project (she previously did Crashing , highly recommended as well).
3. ‘Good Omens’
Although I was not capable of his style of humor, I understand that the adaptation of the novel by Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman could become a cult series for many people due to its mythology and its particular proposal.
4. ‘Forever’
Created by Alan Yang and Matt Hubbard, both writers for Parks and Recreation (among others), Forever is an eight-episode series in which Fred Armisen and Maya Rudolph play a married couple stuck in a routine. So… No, I can say what happens then because it would be a spoiler, but let’s say that the series moves between drama and comedy.
5.’Seinfeld’
Is Seinfeld the best comedy of all time? Quite possibly. Just by enjoying its nine complete seasons already justifies having this VOD service.
6. ’30 Rock’
If Seinfeld isn’t the best comedy of all time, it will be because 30 Rock is. Liz Lemon’s misadventures in front of the writers’ room of a Saturday Night Live-style variety show, her indescribable supporting roles, the constant parade of cameos and references to popular culture are her biggest assets. 7. ‘The Office’
Another series in which, things in life, I have never entered either is The Office . There is something not, but I couldn’t say what. But that does not mean that you do not understand that it is one of the safe values of the Amazon catalog in Spain. One of the most celebrated comedies of recent years.
8. ‘Parks and Recreation’
The comedy genre has the ability to create happy places , those happy places where we feel at home, among friends, every time we enter an episode. And Pawnee, the Town of Parks and Recreation is one of them. We’d love to spend the day at City Hall where the ever-optimistic Leslie Knope works.
9. ‘Community’
If you won’t take me to Pawnee, take me to the study hall at Greendale College. Community is a series that took me several attempts to get the point, but afterward I found it wonderful. In addition to a cast of the most endearing characters, it has crazy and original episodes that exude a lot of creativity.
10.’Friends’
I don’t say anything about Friends because you already know how great it is. I’m just telling you that it’s on Amazon (as well as on Netflix and HBO Spain, by the way).

Have we said the word cult? Because for cult series, Freaks and Geeks . The high school series created by Paul Feig (produced by Judd Apatow) only had one season on NBC, but critics and fans alike have loved this story of losers and teenagers who discover the wrong company for years.

Opening the drawer of nostalgia we find that Amazon has The Nanny , the mythical comedy starring Fran Drescher (who, in addition, was the creator and producer of the series with her husband).
16. Married couple with children
And another comedy of yesteryear to see again. And we close with a Spanish series. The village is a comedy produced by Mediaset España, although it was first released by Amazon. This story of urbanites who change the city for an abandoned town is created by Alberto Caballero.
