Christmas is here and I get those moments to snuggle up and watch a movie. Streaming platforms such as Netflix or HBO Max know this and have prepared, among others, great movies for all ages and tastes on this subject.
We finally have Christmas upon us and with it come those family moments, all together on the sofa in your house watching some Christmas-themed movies or series. However, we already warned you that if you are one of those who has waited too long to immerse yourself in the Christmas spirit, you have a lot to catch up with.
All streaming services have new Christmas proposals to sweeten your heart a little and take advantage of the bad weather outside to enjoy the odd movie accompanied by, why not, some roasted chestnuts or, well, some popcorn.
That is why we wanted to prepare a list of the last 7 movies that streaming platforms or the big screen have released in 2022. Logically, most are grouped in this last quarter or almost a month, but there is time for everything because some are a few days away from seeing the light.
There are romantic comedies, how could it be otherwise, musicals, cartoons and even a bit of action with Christmas overtones and something bloody.
Hit Christmas (2022)
Netflix has carved a big niche for itself in the cheesy Christmas movie industry in recent years, and this looks like it’s going to be its 2022 offering.
We are going to find the long-awaited return to the world of cinema of Lindsay Lohan, who will play a newly engaged heiress who, after suffering a ski accident, is diagnosed with amnesia and is left in the care of a handsome owner of a cabin and her daughter.
With a return in a big way, the plot is almost irrelevant, but the story could get you hooked on a typical Christmas Sunday.

Silent Night (2022)
Not all Christmas movies are all love, peace and lots of lights. This action black comedy stars David Harbor as Santa Claus, a Rambo-esque action hero, who steps in to save the day when a group of mercenaries attack a wealthy family’s estate.
Judging by some of its images and the trailer, we already warned you that this movie is full of violence and some bloody moments. There are also a lot of very typical Santa Claus puns in the mouth of our protagonist that gives it a very comedy touch.
This mythical character does not miss a beat and he knows who is on the list of bad boys. At the moment it is not available in streaming although it will surely arrive soon.
The Spirit of Christmas (2022)
Two Dickens adaptations in one year, may each take it as a blessing, or not. In this case, Ryan Reynolds and Will Ferrell make an unlikely couple in this reimagining of A Christmas Carol. Ferrell is the Ghost of Christmas Present, but instead of showing Reynolds’ Scrooge the error of his path, it is Present who must reexamine his own past, present and future.
With this movie you can not expect more than comedy and yes, a musical. The high point here is clearly Reynolds and Ferrell, since you already know the story. But you can’t miss the funny cameos of the ghosts of Christmas.
The film has been in a limited theatrical run since November 11, ahead of its November 18 premiere on AppleTV+, so you can check it out now.

Scrooge: A Christmas Carol (2022)
This animated film that we all know its story by now, focuses on an old miser, named Scrooge, who learns the true meaning of Christmas after a series of magical visits, although it will cost him.
Yes, it’s another adaptation of Charles Dickens’ Christmas Carol, but this one stands out for its stellar voice cast, which includes Jessie Buckley, Olivia Colman, Luke Evans, and Jonathan Pryce. Netflix claims it’s a “supernatural, time-travelling, musical adaptation . ” A very good one for children and not so children, for sure.
Who killed Santa? A Murderville Christmas Mystery (2022)
This gem of comedy on Netflix is perfect for the time, apart from the fact that it will make us smile big while we watch it.
Chief Detective Terry Seattle (Will Arnett) is back and this time, the case is critical. Along with his two guest stars, Jason Bateman and Maya Rudolph, he is on a mission to find out who killed Santa Claus.
Here the grace is that we find ourselves before a semi-improvised program, in which some celebrities like Jason Bateman and Maya Rudolph will join the detective. But these guests have not seen the script. It’s up to them to follow the clues and find the name of the killer in the end.
