Argument:
The fight against ISIS terrorism gains more strength after the attacks in Paris and Brussels . The seriously threatened Jewish community is torn between emigrating to Israel or trying to get on with their lives. The intelligence services of half the world face each other with the common objective of ending a new member more fanatical and dangerous than those already known and who calls himself Saladin , in honor of the 12th century sultan who unified the Middle East and took Jerusalem to the crusaders.
In this new adventure, Gabriel Allon will have to dismantle the European fabric, the cradle of recruitment, and infiltrate very close to the enemy to find out about future plans that have the international community on alert. With the help of a nurse, who will invent a past as the widow of a suicide bomber, he will reach the heart of ISIS to show us how a murderer is created.
Opinion:
Sometimes fiction plays tricks on authors and they inadvertently become gurus who anticipate facts . This is the case of the author who, unintentionally, began writing a manuscript long before the settings of his novel became the same ones that the terrorist group ISIS chose to paint the streets of Paris and Brussels with blood . After reading his books, some questions remain in the air: if he was able to get into the minds of the murderers, why more prepared people in the fight against the Islamic State?Did they not foresee these massacres in advance? What are the international interests around everything that is happening in recent years?
In the plot of the novel , death in different parts of France is relentlessly stalking the Jewish community , which is a severe blow to a good number of citizens who find themselves at the crossroads of packing their bags and going to Israel, possibly the the only way out that remains for them in the face of the terror that their lives have become. Hannah Weinberg, an old acquaintance of the followers of Gabriel Allon, is the visible head in the fight against anti-Semitism in France and the person in charge of a conference that will turn society around, marking the beginning of an investigation that translates into persecutions and assassinations until the siege of terrorists is tightened in different parts of Europe .
If the novels where the Israeli agent Gabriel Allon appears has something, it is the high content of action that accompanies the plot. For an international espionage novelIt is understood from the first chapters and with hardly any effort we find ourselves submerged in an international conflict complicated by the numerous open fronts; unsuspected places and others in full view of all represent a labyrinth where the police get lost or sometimes trust. Luckily there are characters like our protagonist. Well, if he has something, it is that in all his novels he manages to capture the attention of the readers, leading us after him with every step he takes; Interesting because of his cold blood but above all because of his ability to deduce, his knowledge of sinister characters and murderers, and of every terrorist that inhabits the planet.
It is the Daniel Silva‘s chance to get ahead of the facts in his fiction, but the documentation with which he works and his extensive knowledge of the current moment are not, especially in everything related to Israel , a country he knows like the back of his hand. Threats from neighboring countries make it the epicenter of senseless wars that are being waged at this very moment.
After the attacks , the center of the plot is located in the search for the authors, both the materials and the thinking head, which will surely be well hidden in the mountains of a distant country. The first images come as a surprise when discovering a woman as the perpetrator of the crimes, the resentful and vengeful woman of someone who died in a previous attack, a black widow . Pulling the thread between old informers and unscrupulous financiers of architectural treasures, the clues discover a certain Saladin as the new Messiah of the Islamic State, a man anchored in the past and with a very personal interpretation of Islam; another fan to add to the list. Discovering his whereabouts and his new intentions will lead us to a disturbing espionage thriller where a bomb may be about to explode or a military intervention may surprise us at the turn of a page.
